DEXM partnered with Bluesky Office to design and build a bespoke internal platform that connects and streamlines their entire commercial workflow, from initial client engagement through to quoting, delivery, installation and invoicing.

Bluesky plays a key role in delivering high-quality, ergonomic workspaces across Jersey and Guernsey, specialising in the supply and installation of office furniture. As the business continued to grow, many of their internal processes were spread across spreadsheets, emails and disconnected systems. This created inefficiencies across quoting, procurement, logistics and finance, while limiting visibility across projects and overall performance.

The goal was to create a single, unified platform that would act as the operational backbone of the business, bringing together every stage of the commercial lifecycle into one connected system. The solution needed to support complex product configuration, improve internal governance and provide real-time insight into projects and financial performance.

Working closely with Bluesky, we designed and developed Nexus: a bespoke application that underpins the day-to-day running of their operations.

At its core, the platform provides a centralised system for managing clients and projects, allowing teams to track project stages, timelines, margins and key operational details in one place. This is tightly integrated with a powerful product and supplier management module, enabling the configuration of highly complex furniture customisation directly within the system.

A key feature of the platform is its advanced quoting functionality. Teams can build detailed, configurable quotes with full pricing breakdowns, manage multiple quote versions and track approval status, all within a controlled and auditable workflow. Once approved, quotes seamlessly convert into purchase orders, ensuring a smooth transition from sales into procurement.

Bluesky Nexus also supports the full operational delivery process. From supplier confirmations through to warehouse coordination, delivery scheduling and installation tracking, the system provides clear visibility across every stage of fulfilment. Mapping and milestone tracking features enable teams to plan and execute projects efficiently while maintaining full oversight.

On the financial side, the platform manages invoicing and credit notes, generating professional documentation and linking financial data directly to project workflows. This ensures accuracy, consistency and improved financial control across the business.

Behind the scenes, role-based access control provides robust security and governance, while configurable system settings allow the platform to evolve alongside the business. Real-time dashboards and reporting tools give leadership clear insight into pipeline performance, supplier activity and financial metrics.

The platform was developed using a modern Microsoft-based architecture, including a Blazor Server front end, .NET services and a SQL Server database, ensuring a scalable and high-performance foundation for future growth.

The final solution delivers far more than an internal tool. Nexus acts as a fully connected operating system for the business, unifying sales, procurement, logistics and finance into a single ecosystem.

By replacing fragmented processes with one cohesive platform, Bluesky now benefits from improved efficiency, stronger operational control and complete visibility across their projects. The system enables teams to work faster, reduce manual effort and deliver a more consistent, high-quality service to their clients.
